This is trade-focused tour infrastructure, not a walk-in booking counter. The scope is regional, the service model is bespoke, and the eConnect platform gives travel agents live inventory access. If you need a Thailand-only guided day trip, look elsewhere. If you are planning multi-country routing or corporate incentive logistics across Cambodia, Vietnam, and Myanmar, this is the operation built for that.

The Bangkok headquarters fills the 12th floor of Regent House on Ratchadamri Road. You book ahead, you come up, and the first part of the conversation is about which of the ten countries you want to route through. Founded in September 1999 by Luzi Matzig and Laurent Kuenzle, Asian Trails expanded from Bangkok to Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Malaysia by the end of its first year. The office network now includes Thailand, Laos, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Borneo, with Laurent Kuenzle serving as CEO since January 2014.

The service portfolio spans wholesale leisure arrangements, meeting and conference organization, team building, incentive travel, airport transfers, hotel bookings, and tour packages anchored to cultural, historical, social, and adventure themes. FIT travelers get personalized itineraries; groups and incentives get logistics coordination across borders. The eConnect platform, launched in 2022 with 11Infotech, provides B2B partners with real-time booking access, live availability, and exclusive rates, with connectivity integrations through WebBeds, Expedia, SiteMinder, Amadeus, and HBX Group as of 2023. Trade buyers use it to pull inventory without waiting for manual quotes.

Asian Trails categorizes experiences into ten trail types: Active, Authentic, Cruising, Culinary, Essential, Family, Joint, Romantic, Sustainable, and Wellness. The design philosophy centers on moving travelers beyond tour-bus windows to what the company calls the Real Asia, with itineraries built to support local communities and respect natural environments. Since 2020, every office across the network holds Travelife Partner certification, with Vietnam achieving the standard first in 2018. The team participates in ChildSafe training as part of the sustainability commitment.

Appointments run by advance booking only. Walk-ins are not part of the model. The office holds IATA accreditation as of 2004, and a 2006 partnership with Kuoni Travel Holding brought additional scale. Thomas Cook India, a subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Holdings, acquired partial ownership in 2017. The LinkedIn profile lists the company at 501 to 1,000 employees globally, and the Bangkok operation serves as the coordination hub for the ten-country network.
