BEGAN VEGAN
71-73 Soi Tha Suphan, Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200
The granddaughter-led rebrand turned what was a healthy-food stall into one of the more committed vegan operations in the Old City. Lead with the Thai section of the menu if you want the kitchen's strongest work, and save room for the cake case near the counter.
You walk into a bright, casual room about ten minutes on foot from Sanam Chai station, tucked down a small alley in the thick of the Tha Tien tourist corridor. The space runs cosy and quiet despite the steady foot traffic outside, with a visible cake display near the entrance and seating that spills to an outdoor section where dogs are welcome.
The kitchen sources its organic vegetables and fruit directly from Chetawan Farm in Salaya, with additional produce and mulberry-based products coming from Mulberry Valley in Saraburi Province. That supply chain shapes the menu, which divides into Thai plates, spaghetti variations, burgers branded BV, seasonal desserts, and a beverage list that includes a Thai tea made with pistachio milk. The Full Breakfast Plate pairs a croissant sandwich layered with thick-cut vegan ham and cheese alongside a fresh salad, while the Pumpkin Soup runs light and visually clean. The Vanilla Strawberry Cake sits in the display case and consistently moves.
The original operation started as R|D Preeda healthy food under Mr. Preeda Tangtrongchit. His granddaughter, Miss Nithmon Tangtrongchit, took over in 2020 and pivoted the concept entirely to plant-based, rebranding it with a stated mission to provide a new version of typical comfort food from vegan ingredients. The shift stuck. The kitchen now runs gluten-free cookies, organic small plates, and a kids' menu, and the venue identifies as women-owned.
The room gets busy around lunchtime on weekends. Reservations are accepted by phone. The kitchen operates within the 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM window daily, so this is a daytime and early-evening operation, not a late dinner option.
