Worth the splurge for its combination of scale and craft. The Garden Suite functions as a spa within a spa, complete with its own bathing, sauna, shower, and lounge areas. Ten treatment suites include couples rooms fitted with Jacuzzi baths and herbal steam. Lead with the Paradise of Siam for a Thai herbal steam followed by acupressure and compress work, or choose the Himalayan Healing Stone Massage for a Himalayan-tradition experience using indigenous ingredients.

You arrive at Level 2 of the Krungthep Wing and step through teak sliding screens patterned on traditional Himalayan lattice work, the first signal that this spa draws its design language from across Asia rather than from a single source. Chi was the first Shangri-La property in the world to launch this spa concept, and the Bangkok location remains a flagship.

The facility holds ten treatment suites, several of which rank among the largest private treatment spaces in Bangkok. The flagship Garden Suite exceeds 107 square metres and features an infinity bath set into a lotus pond, giving each guest their own bathing facility, sauna, shower, changing area, and lounge within one private enclosure. Couples suites are equipped with Jacuzzi baths and herbal steam rooms, making them a strong choice for shared visits.

The treatment menu draws from two distinct Asian traditions. The Himalayan strand includes the Himalayan Healing Stone Massage and the Mountain Tsampa Rub, both built around indigenous ingredients and techniques from that region. The Thai strand delivers the Paradise of Siam, a sequence that opens with a Thai herbal steam to prepare the skin, followed by acupressure work and a warm herbal compress massage. The signature Siamese Massage and the Advanced Youth-Revealing Facial round out the core menu alongside hydro and specialized body therapies.

Body treatments use ZENTS, a luxury spa product line formulated exclusively for Shangri-La in Thailand using floral essences from a biodynamic farm, with formulas that reach up to 98 percent organic content. Facial treatments draw on Phytomer, a French marine-biotechnology brand that produces its active ingredients in Saint-Malo.

Order the Paradise of Siam if you want a full Thai herbal experience with structured bodywork. Lead with the Himalayan Healing Stone Massage for deep-heat work grounded in a different cultural tradition. The spa is located on the Chao Phraya waterfront in Bang Rak, accessible from the Shangri-La BTS pier.
