Kasetsart University opened on February 2, 1943, as Thailand's first institution dedicated to agricultural sciences. It is the country's third-oldest university. The main campus sits on 846 rai in Chatuchak, with three additional campuses in Nakhon Pathom, Chonburi, and Sakon Nakhon provinces. Total enrollment reached 86,536 students in 2019.

The Kasetsart University International College (KUIC) runs the English-language programs. You apply online, connect with an admission representative, then prepare your schedule. Twenty-four undergraduate programs taught entirely in English span business administration, environmental science, tourism, agriculture, and engineering. Eighteen master's and doctoral programs follow the same model. The Kasetsart University Student Exchange Program (KUSEP) accepts visiting students for non-degree courses across economics, business, engineering, tourism, and tropical agriculture.

Krissana International Dormitory houses international students on campus. Health insurance goes through Aetna and is mandatory. The university maintains partnerships with over 30 global institutions, including Cornell, Oxford, Yale, and Kyoto University, and offers dual-degree programs with RMIT and Ocean University of China.
