MAY VEGGIE HOME EXPRESS [Sukhumvit23]
45 ประสานมิตรพลาซ่า ชั้น 2, Soi Sukhumvit 23, Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110
Fifteen-plus years in and May Veggie Home still bakes its own bread and cakes in-house, which is the kind of commitment you don't manufacture. The 100-200 THB price band makes it one of the better-value all-vegan kitchens in Watthana. We think the Express branch suits solo diners and nearby office workers better than group dinners given the counter-service format and compact floor plan on the second floor.
The origin story here is genuinely unusual. Khun May opened her first concept as a bookstore. Customers kept asking if there was food. She started adding dishes. Eventually the food took over entirely, and the bookstore became a kitchen. That pivot happened in 2011, and the brand has been running fully vegan ever since.\n\nThe Sukhumvit 23 branch sits on the second floor of Prasarnmit Plaza, a short walk into the soi from Asok BTS. The menu runs across several categories: appetizers, hot and spicy dishes, noodles, rice, vegan Japanese curry, and burgers with fried options. Signatures include Vegan Pad Thai, Wonton Soup, Vegan Kraphaw using plant-based protein, and fresh spring rolls. The kitchen also turns out house-baked vegan bread and cakes, including custom birthday cakes available on request. Gluten-free dishes and Jane food accommodations are available if you flag your requirements when ordering.\n\nKhun May's background before restaurants was unusual too: she worked as an executive assistant to the president of a multinational company, which gave her significant international travel and exposure to cuisines well beyond Bangkok. That culinary breadth shows in a menu that covers Thai, East Asian, and Western vegan dishes without feeling scattered.\n\nOne practical note: the original Thonglor location relocated to the Asok area several years ago, so older maps or guides may list incorrect addresses. The Soi 23 Express branch is open seven days a week, 10AM to 9PM. Counter service means ordering at the front rather than table service, which keeps things moving but also means no waiter-paced dining.\n\nThe restaurant actively supports local small businesses by stocking and selling their products and desserts alongside the main menu, and wall art by Bangkok-based artist Justin Love rotates through the space and is available for purchase. That dual support for local makers is not a marketing line: it is built into the daily retail operation.
