Mega Cineplex is the cinema destination for format completists on Bangkok's southeastern edge. Fifteen screens covering over 3,250 seats give it sheer scale, but the real draw is the concentration of premium technologies: IMAX with Laser for the biggest-feeling films, 4DX for physical immersion, ScreenX for panoramic width, and an LG MiraClass LED Cinema for 4K-HDR brightness without projection compromise. Worth the drive out to Bangna if the film merits the format.

Getting to Mega Cineplex means heading out to Mega Bangna, the vast retail complex along the Bang Na-Trat Road in Bang Phli District on Bangkok's southeastern boundary with Samut Prakan. The distance from central Bangkok is real, but for those who want to experience a specific cinema format at its best, the journey makes sense.

The cineplex runs fifteen screens with a total of more than 3,250 seats, making it one of the larger multiplexes in the region. What distinguishes it is the density of premium formats stacked within those fifteen theatres.

IMAX with Laser, which upgraded from the earlier Giant Laser Screen in December 2022, delivers the format's characteristic combination of a massive screen, laser-powered brightness, and the precision audio that comes with IMAX's proprietary sound system. For films designed to be seen in IMAX, this screen is among the most capable options in greater Bangkok.

4DX in Cinema 5 adds physical sensation to the viewing experience through moving seats, air effects, water, scent, and other environmental cues. The 112-seat auditorium uses an Univisium 2:1 screen format that suits the wider aspect ratios of many action and spectacle films.

ScreenX in Cinema 11, which opened in March 2026, extends the image across three walls of the auditorium rather than just the front, surrounding viewers in a panoramic visual field that works particularly well for films with sweeping landscapes or large-scale action sequences.

The LG MiraClass LED Cinema in Cinema 6 takes a different approach entirely, replacing projection with a 14 by 7.2 metre LED screen capable of displaying 4K-HDR content with Dolby Atmos audio. The result is a uniformly bright, high-contrast image that conventional projection cannot fully replicate. A Kids Cinema and VIP Ultra Screen round out the format range, ensuring Mega Cineplex functions as well for a family matinee as it does for the most technically demanding blockbuster.
