Forty-plus years at the same Sukhumvit 38 address, Ministry of Education approval, and a bilingual program that takes both Japanese and English seriously rather than treating one as decorative is a real combination. For expat families with Japanese connections, or for Thai families who want genuine dual-language early education in central Bangkok, Melodies occupies a specific niche that newer international preschools do not fill.

Melodies International Kindergarten sits at 55 Sukhumvit 38 Alley in Prakanong, a short walk from BTS Thong Lo station. The school has operated at this address since 1981, accumulating more than 4,000 graduates across its four-decade history.

The school runs two parallel programs. The Japanese Section follows Japan's official Kindergarten Education Guidelines and Nursery Guidelines, with lead teachers trained in Japan. This section serves the Japanese expatriate community but is not exclusive to it. The International Section uses the British Early Years Foundation Stage as its curriculum framework, incorporating Jolly Phonics for English language development in a structured, phonics-led sequence.

Both programs serve children from one and a half to six years old. A Parent-Toddler Playtime program exists for the youngest cohort, ages one and a half to two, as a transition into group learning. The school's stated motto is Happy, Strong, Independent, and the teaching philosophy emphasises inquiry-based learning and developing self-confidence alongside academic foundations.

Thailand's Ministry of Education has granted official approval to the school, a formal designation that distinguishes Melodies from the many unaccredited international preschools operating in Bangkok. Operating hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday, closed weekends. Admission enquiries are handled by phone during school hours.
