Rutnin Eye Hospital is Thailand's oldest and most credentialed specialist eye hospital. Professor Dr. Uthai Rutnin established the hospital after completing his fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard University, under Dr. Charles Schepens, bringing subspecialist ophthalmology to Thailand at a time when no comparable facility existed.
Today the hospital maintains Joint Commission International accreditation, a standard it first earned in 2010, and holds recognition as a Center of Excellence from the Asia Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
