If you need non-life coverage and prefer dealing with a company that has regional scale but local longevity, this is a solid middle-ground option. The parent group's 130-year track record matters when claims get complex. Motor insurance is the bread-and-butter product, but the corporate side handles everything from all-risk property to marine cargo. Email and phone go to the central claims team.

Sompo Insurance (Thailand) started as Thai-Yasuda Insurance in June 1997 with 300 million baht in registered capital. The company converted to public status in 2012, absorbed the Nipponkoa brand in 2013, then rebranded under the global Sompo name in September 2016. The parent entity is Sompo Holdings, a Japanese insurance group formed in 2010 and listed on the Nikkei 225, with roots going back more than 130 years. That lineage shows up in the underwriting standards and the reinsurance capacity on larger corporate accounts. You reach the office on the 23rd and 24th floors of Punn Tower, Rama IV, walking distance from Queen Sirikit MRT.

Personal insurance covers motor (comprehensive and third-party), travel, home and contents. Corporate clients can access all-risk property, business interruption, marine cargo, public liability, and engineering lines. Motor remains the highest-volume product for individual customers. The company launched an expanded motor product line in 2025 and works with general insurance brokers to distribute coverage across the country. The company operates six branches across Thailand as of mid-2025, with the most recent opening in Khon Kaen in August 2025. The Bangkok headquarters handles claims services, underwriting, and policy admin for the full network.

Phone contact is 02-119-3000. Email is cs@sompo.co.th. English-language service is available for policy inquiries and claims.
