The steamed milk is the anchor here, not a side item. Order it first to understand what the rest of the menu builds around. The name translates to chatting happily and the room delivers on that intention: low-key seating, Hong Kong film-style aesthetic, and a pace that does not rush you out after one bowl.

You sit down to steaming milk in a ceramic bowl, served warm and smooth the Hong Kong way. The texture sits somewhere between a light custard and hot milk, sweetened but not cloying, clean enough that you taste the dairy before the sugar. TaoTao is the first cafe in the Pratu Phi area to put this specific dessert at the center of the menu.

The name comes from the Chinese phrase 滔滔处乐, which translates to chatting happily. The owner built the place as a gathering point where friends could sit over desserts and talk without time pressure. That intention shows in the room: Hong Kong film-style decor, seating that does not squeeze too many people in, and a menu that runs past forty items so repeat visits do not feel repetitive. Beyond the steamed milk, the menu runs through Chinese pastries and roasted teas, with variations on the milk theme that add different toppings and textures. The Hong Kong roasted milk tea costs ฿79 and uses tea leaves roasted in the traditional Chinese method before brewing, which deepens the aroma and pulls the bitterness back.

Order the milk tea if you want something less sweet. Same dairy base, less sugar.

The cafe opens daily from 11 AM to 11 PM. Delivery is available if you're outside the immediate area.
