Use this as your Old Town breakfast base. The all-day breakfast list and the river-facing terrace combine into the easiest morning you can have before walking into the Grand Palace circuit. Sit outside if the season allows, order the big breakfast with a long black, and you have set yourself up well for a long temple walk.

You walk through the Tha Maharaj community mall toward the river, past the Starbucks, and The Coffee Club opens out onto the Chao Phraya with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor line is the reason to come. From the terrace, the view runs straight across the river to Wat Pho and the spires of the Grand Palace complex, a sightline most Bangkok cafes cannot offer at any price.

The menu is the standard Coffee Club international line, expanded for the Bangkok branch. All-day breakfast leads the order pad. Pasta, sandwiches and a section of Thai favourites sit alongside the cakes and the espresso program, which is the brand's home territory as an Australian franchise.

Mains start at 280 baht.

What makes this branch useful is location logic. Tha Maharaj sits on the Phra Nakhon side of the river, walking distance from Wat Mahathat and a short stroll from the back entrance of the Grand Palace circuit. The pier outside the mall handles Chao Phraya tourist boats, which means you can land here directly from Sathorn pier without crossing road traffic. For a morning that opens with breakfast on the river and continues straight into temple visits, the geometry is hard to beat.

Opening hours stretch across the day, so this works equally well as a late-afternoon coffee stop after the Grand Palace exit. Indoor seating is fully air-conditioned for the hotter months. Booking is rarely needed for a table, even with the river view in play.
