The Tongkeun-Gui Korean BBQ
218/8 Siam Square Soi 1, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330
Order the Signature Set D if you want the full spread. The marinated pork neck is the standout in that lineup, and the tableside grilling means you can focus on the soju instead of the tongs.
You step off the escalator at BTS Siam and the restaurant sits a few minutes walk into Siam Square Soi 1, spread across three floors with wooden furniture and the kind of working-grill energy that fills Korean barbecue rooms. The staff grill and cut your meat, swapping out the griddle between cuts so the marinated short rib does not pick up residual spice from the pork belly that came before it.
The Signature Set D runs ฿1,188 and brings pork belly with spicy sauce, three-layer pork, marinated pork neck, banchan spreads, and a choice of Korean ham soup or tteokbokki on the side. The Beef Set drops to ฿988 with marinated short rib, brisket, and sliced brisket portions. Fresh vegetables come out for wrapping, and the kimchi that accompanies every order has been marinating for over four months in-house. That fermentation time shows in the sourness and the way it cuts through the fattier cuts.
Fried Rice Mountain Fire (฿350) is the closer most tables order. The kitchen builds it tableside with gochujang stirred through, then rings the mound with hot-pan eggs that set against the metal. It is theater and carbs in one move.
The venue draws university students from the surrounding Chulalongkorn campus, tourist groups working through Siam's dining circuit, and local crowds who want Korean barbecue without the Thonglor commute. The room runs louder after 7 PM when the dinner reservations compress. Reservations go through the phone line at 02-252-8392, and dinner slots fill faster on weekends. Come with at least two people; the sets are built for sharing and the solo path here is limited.
