UPD Driving School is a DLT-accredited driver-training institution operating under dual certification from Thailand's Department of Land Transport and the Ministry of Education. Its Khan Na Yao branch, located off Kanchanapisek Road, provides English-language instruction and registration for students seeking Thai driving licenses.

The standard car license course runs 15 hours at a tuition fee of 6,500 THB and is structured in two parts. The theoretical component covers five hours of classroom instruction across four subject areas: traffic regulations (1.5 hours), safety driving techniques (2 hours), consciousness and etiquette in driving (1 hour), and emergency operations (0.5 hours). The practical component covers ten hours behind the wheel across two phases. The first six hours address fundamentals, including use of gearboxes, daily maintenance checks, cockpit familiarization, steering technique, proper pedal and brake use, gear shifting, and driving forward and in reverse. The remaining four hours cover exam preparation and advanced motor commands: parking, directional reversal, speed management, zigzag maneuvers, and sharp-angle turns. The final three hours of road practice take place on actual public roads under direct instructor supervision.

All practical sessions at UPD are conducted one-on-one. Every time a student drives, a qualified instructor is physically present in the vehicle. Group driving sessions are not used.

The motorcycle course runs 15 hours at 2,000 THB, covering basic motorbike handling knowledge and practice across a range of riding positions and maneuver types.

Additional course formats include a 10-hour and a 6-hour refresher car course, a theory-only preparation course for license renewal applicants, and commercial transport license courses for professional drivers at 26 hours (type 3) and 30 to 41 hours (types 1 and 2).

Enrollment requirements for all license courses include a minimum age of 18, a physical reflex test and three eyesight tests (color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception) conducted at UPD before instruction begins. Required documents are a national ID or passport copy, proof of residence, two 1x1-inch recent photographs, and a medical certificate. Contact the school at 02-540-3333 or via info@upd.co.th.
