Wat Thep Thidaram Worawihan
70 Maha Chai Rd, Samran Rat, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200
Wat Thep Thidaram Worawihan is a royal Buddhist temple in Phra Nakhon, founded by King Rama III in 1836 in honour of his daughter and completed in 1838. Its architecture blends Thai and Chinese styles, and the main hall holds a white stone Buddha. A rare eastern hall depicts 52 female bhikkhuni around an image of Mahapajapati Gotami. The poet Sunthorn Phu was ordained here. Entry is generally free, though visitors should dress modestly.
