Baan Ying started with 9 tables in Siam Square in 1999, built around Auntie Ying's belief that food prepared for and shared with family is the most delicious food there is. That philosophy traveled intact to the plant-based branch, now operating inside Dusit Suites Hotel on Ratchadamri Road. The kitchen uses 100% vegan ingredients across a full Thai menu, with no meat, eggs, or dairy in any dish. A newer generation of the family brought the plant-based perspective; the family recipes stayed.\n\nThe menu spans appetizers, soups, rice dishes, and desserts. The restaurant's own positioning frames it as healthy, flavorful Thai food rather than a compromise version of familiar dishes. Both vegans and non-vegans are welcomed, which matters in practice: groups with mixed dietary preferences can eat here without the usual menu negotiation.\n\nThe space is bright and airy with lush greenery and a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Wine, coffee, beer, and other beverages are available alongside the food, making it a workable option for a full dinner with drinks rather than just a lunch stop.
