Dunlopillo invented the latex mattress in 1929. E.A Murphy, a Dunlop scientist researching foam, registered the name three years earlier and brought the first commercial latex beds to the UK market in 1931. The Thai operation sources latex to British standards and manufactures both pure latex models and hybrids that layer latex with pocket springs or memory foam.
