Easae Coffee Shop
161 Song Sawat Rd, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100
Easae, written Eiah-Sae in Thai, is one of Chinatown's oldest coffee houses, on Phat Sai in Samphanthawong with roots going back well over a century. The room keeps its old-school character with Art Deco purple walls and vintage photographs, including the late king playing saxophone as a young man. Regulars come for strong traditional o-liang coffee and kaya butter toast, served amid a crowd of longtime locals. The brew can even arrive by the bucket on request. It opens early for the morning coffee crowd.
