EmSphere opened on December 1, 2023, as the third mall in the EM District along Sukhumvit Road in Khlong Tan, Khlong Toei. Developed with an investment of approximately 15 billion baht, the building covers around 200,000 square metres and takes the form of a futuristic glass dome structure positioned alongside Benjakitti Park, giving it a visual identity distinct from its EM District neighbours.
The mall's connection to BTS Phrom Phong station is direct, via an enclosed bridge link that makes the commute from central Sukhumvit a matter of minutes without exposure to street-level traffic or weather. Together with Emporium and EmQuartier, EmSphere completes a trio of connected retail destinations that shoppers can walk between via the linked interior corridors of the EM District.
Food and beverage is a headline category at EmSphere. The ground floor hosts a large food court with Thai and international options, while the upper levels, particularly the fifth and sixth floors, concentrate 25 entertainment-led dining destinations including pubs, bars, beach clubs, and supper clubs. This programming gives EmSphere a distinct after-dark personality that complements its daytime retail offer.
The UON LIVE venue covers 12,000 square metres and holds approximately 6,000 people, with a technical specification that supports international concerts, fan meetings, sporting events, fashion shows, exhibitions, and competitions. It is one of the most capable purpose-built entertainment arenas inside a Bangkok shopping complex.
Thailand's first downtown IKEA occupies more than 15,000 square metres across the third floor, recognised as the world's largest IKEA location within a city centre at the time of opening. The presence of IKEA at this scale introduces a practical home and lifestyle dimension to EmSphere that broadens its appeal well beyond fashion and dining.
The rooftop is home to TRIBE Sky Beach Club, a rooftop beach bar concept that imports sand and poolside aesthetics to the top of the building, offering one of Bangkok's most visually distinctive sunset and evening destinations. The in-mall cinema complex rounds out the entertainment offer with premium seating and modern projection.
