Book the first fitting for early in your trip and leave the final fitting for your last full day in Bangkok. The three-stage process means you get a proper basted fitting to check balance before the final garment is finished, which most quick-turnaround tailors skip entirely.

You walk into a narrow shopfront just off Asoke BTS and the first thing Jesse shows you is fabric. Not a lookbook, not a portfolio. Bolts of wool and cotton from mills he has worked with for decades, arranged by weight and weave, each one tagged with the country of origin and the recommended garment type.

Jesse opened this flagship after more than 30 years in the business. He started in Udonthani cutting suits for American military personnel, later ran Bangkok Fashions under a partnership, and eventually set up his own operation on Sukhumvit Road with his son Manop leading the tailoring bench. The process now runs in three stages spread across three to four days: fabric selection and measurements on day one using an iPad interface to walk through lapel widths and pocket styles, a basted fitting on day two to check balance and proportions before the final stitching, and a finishing session on day three where collar-felt colors and buttonhole thread get decided.

The workshop builds every suit with full canvassing, uses Bemberg linings as standard, and finishes shirts with mother-of-pearl buttons and suits with real horn. Each client gets an individual pattern cut from their measurements rather than an adjusted block, which means adjustments between fittings happen on paper before the tailor cuts into the final cloth. The team works in-house and Jesse still handles most of the initial consultations himself, walking clients through weight recommendations for Bangkok heat versus European winter and explaining why a half-canvassed jacket will not hold shape the way a full-canvas one does after five years of wear.

Appointments run by phone, WhatsApp, or LINE (jesseandson), and the calendar fills quickly during high season. Most clients are repeat customers who leave measurements on file and order remotely, but first-timers need to allocate at least 90 minutes for the initial fitting to get the pattern dialed in properly.
