MASA - Otaru Masazushi
ICONSIAM ฝั่ง SIAM TAKASHIMAYA ชั้น4 โซน Rosedining 299 Charoen Nakhon 5 Alley, Khlong Ton Sai, Khlong San, Bangkok 10600
The MASA Omakase at 4,500 THB delivers a structured ten-piece nigiri sequence after a multi-plate appetizer run, which we think is strong value at this price in Bangkok. The 30-minute no-show policy with full charge signals tight seat-time management. We would book the MASA format over the Mini for the fuller sequence and the defined dessert finish.
Masazushi opened in Otaru, Hokkaido in July 1938, converted from a café called Shojyorin by founder Shonosuke Nakamura, born in 1914 in Teshio, Hokkaido. The restaurant operated under family ownership for more than 80 years, with current owner Takayuki Nakamura, the founder's grandson, now leading operations across Shinjuku, Ginza, Nagoya and Bangkok. The Bangkok branch at ICONSIAM is the first international location outside Japan, on the 4th floor of Siam Takashimaya at 299 Charoen Nakhon Road, Khlong San, Bangkok 10600. Around 90 percent of ingredients are sourced from Japan and brought to Bangkok, using the same seasonal Hokkaido supply chain as the Otaru main store. The seasonal produce rotation determines which fish and shellfish appear in each omakase format at any given service.
You sit at the counter and the chef works directly in front of you. The kitchen runs in defined reservation slots, not a shared open-seating room.
The menu runs four omakase formats. AZAMI Lunch is 1,990 THB. Mini Omakase and Nigiri Omakase are both 3,000 THB. The MASA Omakase at 4,500 THB covers soup, five to six appetizer plates, ten nigiri pieces, miso soup and a dessert course. Premium Omakase is 6,000 THB and extends the full sequence. A reservation deposit of 1,000 THB per person is charged at booking, and arriving more than 30 minutes late is classified as a no-show and billed in full.
Service runs in two sessions daily: 11:30AM to 3PM and 5:30PM to 10PM. Address is 4th floor, Siam Takashimaya, ICONSIAM, 299 Charoen Nakhon Road, Khlong San, Bangkok 10600. Phone is +66 2 005 3800.
