The VIP tier is the one to book for the long-haul south. The double-deck coaches come with reclining sofa-style seats and onboard films, and the comfort buys itself back over a journey this long. The real win is the through-ticket structure: the bus leg and the connecting ferry to the island arrive as one fare, instead of two separate bookings at the pier.

Tani Road runs one block north of Khao San. Monthanathip keeps a booking office at number 22, selling through-tickets out of Bangkok to the southern Thai coast and the Gulf islands. The catalogue runs from the long-haul VIP bus down to private charter coach hire.

You book in person at the Tani Road office, open daily between noon and 7:30 PM. The Bangkok-to-south routes posted at the counter run Surat Thani at ฿750, Koh Samui at ฿1,150, Koh Phangan at ฿1,200, and Koh Tao at ฿1,350. Phuket is ฿950, Hat Yai ฿1,000, and Khao Sok ฿950, with the Andaman side covering Krabi, Ao Nang, Koh Lanta, and Koh Phi Phi in the ฿1,200 to ฿1,350 band. Most southern destinations are sold as bundled bus-and-boat through-tickets, so the connecting ferry to the island is included in the same fare and you do not arrange the pier transfer separately. The same counter handles individual ticket sales and charter coach bookings for private groups, both routed through the office at number 22.

The fleet runs double-deck VIP coaches. Each seats fifty in reclining sofa-style configuration, with air conditioning, onboard films, karaoke, and first-class passenger insurance built into the fare. The two-tier VIP chassis is the one Monthanathip uses on the southern runs.

Honest heads-up: the office only opens at noon, with the counter staying open until 7:30 PM. If you cannot make Tani Road in person, phone bookings run through Aonchai on 098-924-9579 or Pon on 083-698-5227, and the same lines handle charter coach enquiries.
