Rocket Coffeebar
149 Sathon Soi 12 Alley, Si Lom, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500
Rocket Coffeebar is the Sathorn 12 original that quietly defined Bangkok brunch culture from 2013 onward. The Sapparot Group founders, Swedish restaurateurs previously behind Hyde and Seek, built three complementary outlets on the same soi before expanding further. Order the Benedict Salmon on a Thomas English muffin with hollandaise, or the Nordic Waffle with gravlax salmon and salmon roe at 340 THB. The flagship has since added a Lumphini branch, 13-plus years in and still the benchmark.
You find Rocket Coffeebar tucked into 149 Sathorn Soi 12, a side street that was still relatively undeveloped when the Sapparot Group opened here in 2013. The founders, three Swedish partners formerly of Hyde and Seek cocktail bar, saw a gap in Bangkok's daytime hospitality: a cafe that committed equally to specialty coffee, house-made baked goods, and serious all-day food. What began with 20 seats became the address that anchored a neighbourhood transformation, with the W Hotel and Sathorn Square offices following in subsequent years. The coffee program remains the anchor. Espresso drinks are crafted by baristas who treat brewing as a discipline, and the menu has evolved to include multiple cold brew options alongside the full espresso range. The kitchen is built around sourdough baked in-house, and almost every section of the menu uses it as a foundation. Breakfast runs from the Benedict Salmon (avocado, Thomas muffin, hollandaise, spinach salad, 340 THB) to the full Breakfast Plate of two fried eggs, sourdough, sausage, bacon, Italian-style herb tomatoes, asparagus, and potatoes at 440 THB. The Scramble Toast at 250 THB layers bacon, broccolini, spinach, asparagus, coriander pesto, jalapeno, and lemon zest on toasted sourdough. The Nordic Waffle at 340 THB arrives with salmon mousse, salmon roe, tiger prawns, lemon, and gravlax salmon. The Zesty Salmon Steak runs 590 THB with beurre blanc, lemon zest, salmon roe, and broccolini. Sourdough sandwiches cover Roast Beef with wholegrain mustard and cheddar, the ABE with avocado and bacon, and a Chorizo and Cheese with smoked scamorza. The Sapparot Group expanded to Central Embassy and Sukhumvit Soi 49 before the newest Lumphini branch opened in 2026 next to Lumpini Park's Gate 6 on Sarasin Road. The Sathorn 12 original operates 07:00 to 17:00. Worth the trip down the soi specifically for the sourdough Benedict at the address that started everything.
