Unico Grande Golf Course
2 Krungthep Kreetha Rd, Thap Chang, Saphan Sung, Bangkok 10250
This is Bangkok golf for golfers who want a full round without the drive out to the new courses in the suburbs. The par 63 keeps the pace moving, and the redesigned layout holds more challenge than the yardage suggests. Play it for convenience, location, and a piece of Bangkok golf history.
Unico Grande opened in 1968. That makes it one of Bangkok's oldest operating courses.
The course sits on Krungthep Kreetha Road in Saphan Sung, roughly 20 minutes from the city center depending on traffic, which matters if you are trying to fit a round into a working day. The layout is a par 63 redesign, shorter and tighter than most modern Bangkok courses. Bunkers and water hazards protect every green, and the greens themselves undulate enough to keep short-game players honest. Some fairways open up, others squeeze. The course rewards placement over power, and local knowledge helps more than distance. You walk off the first tee and the course feels older in the good sense: mature trees, established contours, none of the raw dirt-and-sod feeling of newer courses. The facilities include a pro shop, locker rooms, a massage room for post-round recovery, and Unico Restaurant if you want to sit down after.
Golf buggies are available, and there is wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance. The course opens at 6 AM, so early starts mean teeing off in half-light. Last tee time is 6 PM. Food is available on-site if you want to make the visit longer than just the round.
The par 63 format is unusual for Bangkok. Most serious golfers expect 18 holes at par 72, so walking into a par 63 layout means recalibrating expectations. Come for convenience and history. The course sits close enough to the city that you can fit a round into a working day without the hour-long commute to suburban courses.
