Established in 1994, Vejthani has accumulated a series of milestones that set it apart within Thailand's private hospital sector. It earned its first Joint Commission International accreditation in 2010 and has renewed that credential in 2013, 2016, 2019, and most recently through the 2022-2025 cycle. Thailand's Hospital Accreditation body recognized the facility as early as 2007.
The clinical scope is broad. More than 300 specialists practice across 30-plus dedicated centers and clinics covering cardiology, oncology, spine surgery, neurology, gastroenterology, reproductive medicine, urology, plastic surgery, dermatology, pediatrics, and many others. The hospital's orthopedic program has earned it informal recognition as Thailand's premier bone-and-joint destination, with JCI Clinical Care Program Certifications for both knee replacement and lumbar decompression and fixation. The Hepatitis B certification is equally significant: Vejthani is the first hospital anywhere in the world to have received that particular JCI designation, and the lumbar program was the first such certification in Southeast Asia.
For complex procedures, the hospital operates 10 operating theatres and provides bone marrow transplants, robotic spinal surgeries, lung transplants, and kidney transplants. Inpatient capacity sits at over 200 beds, supported by more than 700 full-time staff including 200-plus nurses.
International patients number over 300,000 annually, drawn from more than 100 countries. To support this volume, the hospital maintains a staffed welcome booth at Suvarnabhumi Airport (Gate 10), coordinates airport and hotel transfers, houses an embassy liaison service, provides Muslim prayer rooms, assists with visa extensions, and offers interpretation in Arabic, Bengali, Burmese, English, French, German, Hindi, Japanese, Khmer, Korean, and a dozen additional languages.
