Come for the English-language headliners, but the multilingual shows in Hindi, Gujarati, French, Danish, Japanese, and Thai reveal the venue's real range. The Tuesday open mic is the raw entry point; the Friday and Saturday headline slots are where international touring comedians land between Singapore and Manila. Book ahead.

You climb the stairs above The Royal Oak and step into Bangkok's first permanent English-language comedy venue, operating since 2014. The room is small, the stage is close, and the lineup rotates between international touring acts and seasoned local performers who have built the city's stand-up scene from scratch.

The venue has hosted Jimmy Carr, Jim Jefferies, Eddie Izzard, Jim Gaffigan, Ari Shaffir, and Neal Brennan over the years. Those are marquee nights. The regular Friday and Saturday shows mix touring comedians with Bangkok-based talent, all performed in English unless the night shifts to one of the venue's multilingual formats: Hindi, Gujarati, Danish, French, Japanese, or Thai. The Tuesday Level Up Open Mic is the testing ground for new material and first-timers, and the Monday improv meet-up draws a rotating cast of performers working without a script.

The venue also produces shows across Thailand in Hua Hin, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Samui, and Pattaya, but the Sukhumvit room is the anchor. The Funny in Pink benefit show, featuring all-female lineups, donates 100% of proceeds to the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer. The bar downstairs at The Royal Oak is part of the package, so the night extends beyond the stage if the crowd lingers.

Shows run Friday and Saturday only, 8 to 10 PM. If you want a weekend slot during high season or when a known name is touring through, book early through the venue's website.
