May Veggie Home
738 Sukhumvit 101 Alley, Khwaeng Bang Chak, Khet Phra Khanong, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10260
If you have one vegan dinner in this corner of Bangkok, eat here. Order the kaprow plant-based protein with rice and let the bakery counter close the meal. Gluten-free and jane-style requests are honored without fuss, which is rare for a kitchen this small.
You step in behind the 7-Eleven opposite Punnawithi Soi 21, and the room is plainer than the menu deserves: a small dining area, an open pastry case, the smell of fresh vegan bread from the back kitchen.
The menu reads like a Thai canon rewritten with plants. Pad kaprow with plant-based mince at ฿139. Fried vegetarian chicken with lime mayonnaise at ฿149. Tom kha mushroom soup, penang curry with tofu, vegan phat thai, and a stuffed avocado that doubles as both starter and table centerpiece. The kitchen has been doing this since 2011, which is older than most plant-based menus in the city.
The in-house bakery is the part most first-timers miss. Vegan strawberry cake, cupcakes, fresh bread daily, and a custom birthday cake order line that takes briefs by phone. Gluten-free and jane food (Thai Buddhist style, no onion, no garlic) are available on request.
The address is a heads-up. May Veggie Home 101 is closed Mondays, so plan around Tuesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 9 PM. The Sukhumvit 101 location sits a 5-minute walk from Punnawithi BTS exit 3, and a second branch (May Veggie Home Express) runs daily on Sukhumvit 23 inside Prasarnmit Plaza if you are coming from Phrom Phong side.
Come with someone who eats meat. Order the kaprow, the curry, and a slice of the strawberry cake. The conversion happens at the cake.
