Riverside Plaza works best as a slow afternoon rather than a shopping mission. The retail mix is modest by Bangkok mall standards, but the Chao Phraya setting, the Michelin-noted restaurant Naiuan, and the easy boat connection from Sathorn Pier give it a character that larger riverside competitors cannot replicate at this scale. Built for guests of the neighboring Anantara and Avani resorts, but just as rewarding for anyone who wants the river without the ICONSIAM crowds.

The free shuttle boat from Sathorn Pier is usually how you arrive, the Chao Phraya slipping past on both sides of the bow as the craft docks at the Anantara pier on Charoen Nakhon Road. From there, Riverside Plaza is a short walk through the resort grounds, the transition from open-air riverside to mall interior happening gradually enough that the mood carries over.

Thon Buri has always sat slightly apart from Bangkok's main commercial corridors, and Riverside Plaza reflects that quieter register. Three floors of retail and dining cover fashion boutiques, a handful of services, banking outlets, and a children's play area, with a scale that keeps the place manageable on a weekday afternoon. The dining lineup spans Japanese, Thai, and Chinese options, anchored by Naiuan, which has earned Michelin Guide recognition for its Thai cooking. Starbucks and The Coffee Club handle the casual end.

The riverside cafes along the mall's outer edge are the most atmospheric spots, positioned to catch the late-afternoon breeze off the Chao Phraya and frame the view toward the Bangkok skyline. At sunset, the light comes in across the water at an angle that makes the terrace seating genuinely special. Three hours of free parking is available for visitors who drive across from the Bangkok side via Charoen Nakhon Road.

The mall sits in the Thon Buri district, physically adjacent to Avani+ Riverside Bangkok Hotel, which occupies the upper floors of the same building cluster. Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort borders it to the south. Both hotels run scheduled shuttle boats to Sathorn Pier every 15 to 30 minutes from early morning until midnight, making Riverside Plaza one of the most pleasant river-access shopping destinations on the Thon Buri bank, even for visitors staying across the river in Silom or Sathorn.
