Steps opened in 2016 as a certified B Corporation with a mission to employ neurodivergent people and those with learning differences in structured vocational settings. The Ekkamai Soi 10 location operates as both a café and a training venue: the floor staff are trainees working through the Steps programmes, which build from life skills foundations into employment preparation and workplace transition. The organisation tracks a 100 percent employment rate for graduates completing the vocational programme. Coffee at all locations uses a special blend roasted by Roots. The café now operates across five locations, with four Bangkok branches and two Phuket franchise locations running the same training model, and the Ekkamai Soi 10 branch at 29/8 Charonmit serving as the original site.
You order at the counter and the staff preparing your coffee are trainees building vocational skills in a live café setting. The space runs Wi-Fi throughout.
The menu covers coffee from the Roots special blend and smoothies made with fruit or nut bases. Gluten-free and allergen-free food options run throughout, including vegan selections. Dairy-free ice cream is made in-house at the Ekkamai location. Brunch plates and baked goods run daily. Catering and delivery are available alongside dine-in service, and organic produce features across the menu.
