Lead with the green curry and the pad thai, then take an outdoor table by the canal if the weather allows. Worth the trip across the river or down from the Old City after a museum afternoon, not a destination booking on its own. The evening-only window means dinner timing has to work around it.

You find the doorway on Prachathipatai Road, one block in from the canal in Phra Nakhon, and the front of the room opens onto outdoor seating that catches the breeze off the water. The setting is residential old-Bangkok rather than tourist Yaowarat or Khao San. Indoor tables for the rainy nights, outdoor tables for everything else.

The menu reads as a focused Thai home-cook rotation rather than a sprawling pan-Asian one. Pad Thai is the signature, stir-fried tight and served fast. Green curry is the second order at most tables, aromatic and full of basil. The kitchen also runs vegetarian alternatives and a kid-friendly section, which is rarer in this part of the Old City than the family-heavy address would suggest.

Service runs evenings only. Doors open at 17:00 and close at 22:30, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays dark, so a Monday or a Thursday-through-Sunday window is the only way in. The phone number for reservations is 088 673 2111 and the Facebook page is thefamilybkk for any closure announcements before you make the trip.

Getting there is not BTS-accessible. The nearest stop is at Sanam Chai MRT, then a tuk-tuk or a short Grab through the Old City lanes. The canalside setting and the early closure mean dinner here is best paired with an afternoon at the National Museum or the Golden Mount rather than a late-night Sukhumvit pivot.

Come with two or three people who will share four dishes, ask for an outdoor table, and plan to be done by 21:30 so the kitchen can close on time.
