The Silom Complex branch serves the full catalogue: Shibuya Honey Toast, Chocolate Lava Cake, Kakigori shaved ice, Figgy Pudding, and Panookie, alongside teas, coffees, and take-home products. With over 51 branches by end of 2022, the brand's consistency is its most bankable quality.
You find your way to the second floor of Silom Complex on Si Lom Road and join the queue that tells you the brand has earned its place in Bangkok's dessert canon. After You Dessert Cafe opened its first branch at J Avenue, Soi Thonglor 13, in 2007. It was a small operation started by Gulapat Kanokwatanawan after college, built around the desserts she had been perfecting since the age of ten. The flagship product is the Shibuya Honey Toast: a thick block of Japanese-style milk bread, hollow in the centre, toasted golden, and loaded with butter, honey, and your choice of ice cream and toppings. It photographs well and tastes better than it photographs, which is the reason it became the dish that spread the brand across Bangkok entirely by word of mouth before social media had finished arriving. The Chocolate Lava Cake is the other anchor: a warm, molten-centred dessert that anchors one end of the menu while the Kakigori shaved ice series defines the other. The Figgy Pudding and the Panookie (a pan-baked cookie) round out the signatures that have remained on the menu since the early years, alongside seasonal and rotating items tested regularly by the kitchen. After You was incorporated as Sea Munch Co., Ltd. in 2005, relaunched under the After You brand in 2007, and renamed After You Co., Ltd. in 2008. The company listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2016, which funded an aggressive expansion that reached 51 branches of the After You brand by the close of 2022, with additional branches in provinces including Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, Phitsanulok, and Udon Thani, plus an overseas branch in Hong Kong's Causeway Bay. The Silom Complex location serves the Bang Rak business corridor, a neighbourhood of office towers, embassies, and the BTS Sala Daeng interchange, making it a logical afternoon stop for anyone in the district. The menu runs across more than 100 dessert and beverage products. Beverages include teas, coffees, and chocolate drinks. Souvenir products and take-home items are also available at branch level. The atmosphere across all After You branches is designed for warmth and accessibility, built to draw customers from children to adults in equal measure.
