Lawry's The Prime Rib lands in Bangkok with its original Beverly Hills script largely unchanged: a heritage dating to 1938, USDA-sourced beef slow-roasted and carved tableside from a temperature-controlled Silver Cart valued at three million baht, and the Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad whisked in a chilled metal bowl over ice. The Seafood Tower and fresh oyster bar extend the menu for tables that want more than prime rib alone.

Lawry's The Prime Rib Bangkok is located on the third floor of Gaysorn Amarin at 496-502 Ploenchit Road, Lumphini, Pathum Wan, with direct skywalk access from BTS Chit Lom Station. The brand was established in Beverly Hills, California in 1938, building on the earlier Tam O'Shanter Inn that opened in 1922. Bangkok is the brand's first location in Thailand and follows existing outposts in Chicago, Dallas, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.

The signature dining ritual begins with the Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad: a chilled metal bowl spun over ice while dressing is whisked in tableside, a tradition carried from the original Beverly Hills restaurant. The prime rib itself is USDA-sourced, seasoned with the house spice blend, slow-roasted, and then brought to the table on the Silver Cart, a temperature-controlled carving trolley. Guests select their cut at the table: the California Cut for a thinner portion, the Lawry's Cut for the full classic serving, and the King Cut for the largest available portion. Each prime rib arrives with mashed potatoes, Yorkshire Pudding, and the signature house sauce.

Beyond the prime rib, the kitchen runs a fresh seafood programme featuring Carabineros shrimp, razor clams, mussels in white wine or garlic chili preparations, crab cakes with Remoulade sauce, a Seafood Tower with shrimp cocktail, oysters, king crab, cooked mussels, and Hamachi sashimi, as well as fresh oysters and seared scallops. Starters include A5 Tenderloin Tartare with potato chips, Parmesan Truffle Oil Fries, and Buffalo Wings.

The restaurant holds private dining rooms accommodating 1-8 guests (minimum spend 50,000 THB), 1-12 guests (60,000 THB), and 1-22 guests (110,000 THB). A Wine Dispenser allows guests to sample wines from around the world by the glass before selecting a bottle. Lunch is served 11am-3pm and dinner 5pm to midnight. Reservations are strongly recommended, particularly during holidays and weekends.

Order the Lawry's Cut for the full experience, lead with the Spinning Bowl Salad, and worth pairing with the Crab Cake starter for a table that wants to explore the full menu.
