Rajadamnern Muay Thai Stadium
8 Ratchadamnoen Nok Rd, เเขวง วัดโสมนัส, Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Bangkok 10100
Built for anyone who wants to understand Muay Thai rather than simply watch it, Rajadamnern envelops the fight card in a genuine cultural framework: the pre-fight Wai Kru ceremony, the live pi phat orchestra, an immersive dome projection tracing 1,000 years of the sport's history, and the electric energy of the legal gambling ring operating openly in the upper tiers. The stadium's own ranking system has credentialed champions since 1945.
You enter through gates on Ratchadamnoen Nok Road and find yourself inside the oldest Muay Thai stadium in existence, a venue whose cornerstone was laid on 1 March 1941 at the direction of Prime Minister Field Marshal Plaek Phibunsongkhram.
Construction was interrupted by the Second World War but resumed in August 1945. The building was completed in just four months, and Rajadamnern held its first boxing match on 23 December 1945. A roof was added to the original open-air amphitheatre design in 1951, and the stadium has operated under the Rajadamnern Co., Ltd. entity since 1953. Today it is managed by Global Sport Ventures Co., Ltd. and The Rajadamnern Co., Ltd.
The stadium seats 3,078 spectators across five tiers. VIP Lounge sections in the premium positions (3,500 THB) include free-flow beverages and elevated sightlines. Ringside seats (2,500 THB) in sections 3 through 7 place you close enough to hear corner instructions. Club Class sections 8 and 9 (1,800 THB) provide unobstructed elevated views with nearby food and beverage access. Second Class in section 10 (1,500 THB) is where the traditional hand-signal gambling culture is most visible, managed by armed military police.
Fight programs run every day of the week, each with a distinct character. The Rajadamnern World Series every Saturday operates a three-round format with open scoring after every round and a free-flow beer package. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday evenings bring Rajadamnern Knockout, which claims an 80 percent knockout rate. Wednesday's New Power card follows the five-round traditional format under the longest-established Muay Thai promoter in the country. Thursday's Petchyindee and Sunday's Kiatpetch events also operate traditional five-round schedules.
Every fight night opens with the Wai Kru Ram Muay, the pre-fight ritual that connects modern Muay Thai to centuries of martial tradition. A live pi phat orchestra accompanies the bouts throughout the evening.
The stadium's most recent renovation introduced what it describes as the largest dome projection inside any sports stadium in the world, designed to take audiences through 1,000 years of Muay Thai history as part of an immersive pre-fight experience. Rajadamnern also operates its own weight-class ranking system and issues championship belts up to middleweight (160 lbs), meaning fights here carry title significance beyond entertainment.
