THE COFFEE CLUB - River City
ชั้นที่ 1, โซน outdoor, 23 Soi Chareonkrung 22, Talat Noi, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100
Most Coffee Club branches live inside malls and food courts. This one earns its keep because of where it sits: directly on the river, beside an art-and-antiques centre, three minutes from the express boat. If you are at River City for a gallery opening or auction, eat here before, not after. The terrace is the whole point.
You arrive from the Si Phraya Pier walkway, the river still behind you, and the cafe is the first thing River City puts in front of you on the ground floor. Rooms 150 and 151, outdoor zone, the terrace tucked into the trees of Si Phraya Pier Park. The Chao Phraya keeps moving past the railing while you decide between breakfast and a flat white.
The kitchen runs all day from 7 AM to 10 PM, which matters in this corner of Samphanthawong. The 7 AM open means breakfast lands before most of the building wakes up, and the 10 PM close leaves room for after-dinner cake without rushing.
This is the Australian chain, so the menu reads the way it reads at the other 70-odd branches in Thailand: all-day breakfast, eggs benedict, big toast plates, pasta, Thai dishes for the lunch crowd, espresso done properly. What changes here is the room. Indoor seating is air-conditioned and quiet. The outdoor terrace is where you actually want to be, and at this branch the view is not a car park or a mall atrium. It is the river, the long-tail boats, and the slow pier traffic outside River City's pier dock.
No BTS within walking distance. The simplest route is the Chao Phraya Express Boat to Si Phraya, then a one-minute walk through the pier park into the building.
Go for the terrace seats, not the inside booths. Two people, an all-day breakfast and a long black between you, mid-morning, with the river out front. That is what this branch is for.
