Speakerbox Livehouse
1000/39 Soi Sukhumvit 55 Khlong Tan Nuea, Watthana, Bangkok 10110
Come for the bands, not the decor. Speakerbox backs original music harder than most Bangkok rooms, and the January 2026 L-Acoustics install means the sound finally matches the commitment. Stand close to the stage.
You walk into a compact standing room with a low ceiling and a stage that sits almost at floor level. The L-Acoustics A10 system went in this January, replacing older gear that couldn't keep up with the nightly programming.
Speakerbox opened in 2015 as an independent venue for original music. The booking calendar leans into indie, punk, rock, soul, jazz, blues, and experimental electronic. Touring acts share the stage with local bands and weekly community jam nights. No cover bands, no tribute sets.
The bar runs along one wall. Restaurant service operates through close, which lands around 2 AM depending on the night. The room holds a couple hundred people when it fills, and the standing-only floor keeps the energy direct. Wheelchair access extends to the entrance, seating areas, and bathrooms.
Speakerbox sits inside Liberty Plaza on Soi 55, a five-minute walk from Thong Lo BTS. Paid parking operates in the building's multi-storey structure. The venue opens at 5:30 PM Tuesday through Sunday and runs live music every night it operates. Set times vary by event, so check the schedule before heading over.
This is Bangkok's clearest bet for original music in Thonglor. The sound is professional, the lineup rotates, and the room treats musicians like they matter.
