Lead with the pizza station and the angel hair with crab. The kitchen is run by Andrea, a young chef whose ideas about Italian food are clear, and the menu reads like a Bologna neighborhood spot rather than a hotel dining room. Worth booking ahead by phone or LINE @ilbolognese, since the dinner sitting fills the room.

You walk in off Soi 7 and the wood-fired oven is already in your sightline, with pizza Burrata and pizza Parma Ham on the prep counter and a glass of something Emilian poured before you order.

The room takes its cue from the laid-back trattorias of Bologna. The kitchen is led by Andrea, a young Italian chef, and the menu plays the regional standards rather than chasing trends. Pizza Burrata, pizza Parma Ham, and pizza Diabla anchor the wood-fired section. Angel hair with crab is the pasta to order first, and the Wagyu tomahawk is the splurge piece for a table of four. Most ingredients are imported directly from Italy, which shows up in the salumi and the cheese plates more than anywhere else.

There are two entrances. One on Sathorn Soi 7, one on Naratiwas Soi 7. Both lead to the same room, but the Naratiwas side is the quicker drop-off if you are coming by taxi from Silom.

Valet parking is available, and delivery runs to Sathorn and Naradhiwas only. Service hours split: 11:30 to 14:30 for lunch, then 17:00 to 23:00 for dinner. Book ahead by phone or LINE @ilbolognese for the 7 PM dinner sitting, since the room is small enough that walk-ins after 7:30 often wait.

Come for the pizza if it is your first visit, come back for the pasta and the regional Emilia-Romagna plates the kitchen handles best. Two people can eat well for the price of one mall-tenant Italian dinner, and the room sounds like Bologna instead of Bangkok for an hour.
