Book the earlier slot if you want to taste the grill program clearly, and the later slot if you want the room with the music on. The hay-grilled work is the signature, so order at least one dish that comes off it. Solo diners do well at the counter; groups of four or more should take a table on the outdoor side.

TEPPEN Ekkamai sits on Sukhumvit 61, one of two Bangkok branches under the TEPPEN brand alongside the Sathorn location. The brand label is Entertainment Japanese Dining, and the kitchen is built around Japanese flame-grilling techniques from Kochi Prefecture, with globally-sourced ingredients on top of that base.

The menu spans sushi and sashimi, tempura rolls, grilled chicken and wagyu, ramen, and the Japanese hay-grilling technique the brand is known for. The grill program is the line that distinguishes TEPPEN from the city's other modern izakaya rooms, and it is worth a dish in its own right.

After 9 PM the room changes. A DJ takes over with house music, and on certain nights live musicians, including sax players and jazz acts, take the floor. The space is built for that shift: comfortable seating ranges from tatami to standard tables, with an outdoor section that holds a quieter group.

The Ekkamai branch sits a short walk from BTS Ekkamai. Park on the soi if you are driving, or take the BTS and walk in from the main road. The bar runs alongside the dining program, which means you can stay for one course and a drink without committing to a full omakase sitting.

The parent group also runs O.M.D (Omakase Don) at multiple Bangkok locations including Central World and Icon Siam, and TOUKA, a kushiyaki room at Bandara Hotel. If you like TEPPEN, the sister concepts are worth chasing.
