Artis Coffee Bangkok
390, 20 Sukhumvit Soi 18, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110
Owner CG Langenskiöld co-developed the in-house ROASTMASTER machine after no existing equipment met the standard he needed for fresh-roasted, on-demand coffee. The result is a cafe where the roaster is the centrepiece, beans arrive from a Chiang Rai collective, and the bags are cycled 20 times before retirement. Food covers ciabatta sandwiches, wraps, and pastries, all prepared in the on-site kitchen, served daily from 07:00 to 20:00.
You step into Artis Coffee at the corner of Sukhumvit Road and Soi 18 in Khlong Toei, and the roasting machine is the first thing that holds your attention. Owner CG Langenskiöld, a Swedish entrepreneur, co-engineered the ROASTMASTER roaster after finding that no machine on the market met the standard he wanted for fresh, on-demand roasting. What began as a showroom concept became a neighbourhood anchor once the premises at 390/20 Sukhumvit Soi 18 were secured. All house coffee beans are 100% Arabica sourced from Hill Tribe growers in Thailand's Golden Triangle area in the north of the country. The Chiang Rai collective supplies the beans, which are hand-sorted and dried at Artis before roasting. After each roasting session the beans rest for three days to reach what the team considers their optimal flavour point. Beyond the house blend, the blackboard rotates single-origin coffees roasted by specialist roasters from around the world, giving regulars a reason to check back each week. The coffee menu covers the standards alongside formats suited to Bangkok's heat, and the Instagram handle @artiscoffeebangkok documents the daily rhythm of the shop. The food side covers ciabatta sandwiches, wraps, pastries, and a broader selection of dishes prepared fresh in the on-site kitchen. Bag recycling is part of the operation: coffee bags are reused 20 times before replacement, a supply-chain detail that points to the founders' attention to cost and waste at the same time. The cafe operates every day from 07:00 to 20:00, making it one of the earlier-opening specialty coffee stops on the Sukhumvit corridor. The attached terrace extends the seating and softens the feel of an otherwise urban Sukhumvit corner. For anyone who wants to take the experience home, home-brewing equipment and coffee for retail purchase are available in the shop.
