Order the soufflé pancakes first, then a Hot Matcha Latte while they cook. The pancakes need fifteen to twenty minutes by design and the wait is the format, not a delay. Built for a slow weekday morning rather than a Saturday lunch rush, when the upstairs floor stays the quietest.

You walk in off Sukhumvit 35 and the building reads less commercial than the soi suggests. Ryoku occupies a fifty-year-old house that has been opened up into two floors of glasshouse-style seating, white frames, indoor greenery, and large windows that pull in light from the garden.

The pancake program is the headline. Japanese-style soufflé pancakes come in flavour variations including Strawberry and Mascarpone, Choc-A-Holic, and a savoury Chicken Pancake build. They are slow by design, whisked, baked, and plated to order, which is why almost everyone at the table also has a drink in front of them within the first five minutes.

The beverage list leans Japanese-tea-first. Hot Matcha Latte is the obvious pairing for the sweet pancakes. Beyond that the menu runs through Hot Valrhona Chocolate, Nitro Vanilla Black Tea Rose, Cloud Peach, and Purple Lotus Hot Tea, the kind of list a tea-led cafe would write rather than a coffee chain.

Opening hours run Wednesday through Monday, 08:00 to 20:00, closed every Tuesday. Parking is available on site, which is genuinely useful on this soi where street-side spots disappear by mid-morning. The cafe is a six to eight minute walk from BTS Phrom Phong and EmQuartier, so a coffee here pairs naturally with a shopping morning.

Bring a friend who orders dessert as a meal, take the second floor when it is open, and treat the wait between order and pancake as part of the visit rather than a friction point.
